20 Years of IAIAsa – what are we achieving, where are we heading?
The 20th Annual Conference of the South African affiliate of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) was recently held in the midst of the scenic uKhahlamba Drakensberg National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As well as providing sponsorship for the event, WKC sent a delegation consisting of Marc Blanché, Shivani Naidoo and Douglas Tilbury from WKC’s Durban office, as well as Barry Roberts from WKC’s London office. WKC’s delegates presented four sessions on topics including practical considerations of applying IFC Performance Standards in ESIA, advanced road traffic noise modelling, and significance criteria in air quality assessment.
Our contribution to this important event was really well received from various parties, and a number of delegates had referred to our presentations as a conference highlight. We look forward to following up with a number of new contacts and enquiries that we received during the event.
