The project included various surveys such as habitat and vegetation survey, quadrat and transect sampling, terrestrial ecology surveys, marine ecology surveys and mangrove tree surveys. These surveys aimed to provide comprehensive information on the ecological status of the NEB fields and to identify any potential environmental impacts of the activities in the area.
Al Ain Environmental Assessment
WKC was tasked with undertaking an Independent Regional Strategic Environmental Assessment and to update policies and plans that would form the development strategy for the Al Ain Region. In total, over 80 sites underwent filed surveys and a wider remote sensing campaign of the region was conducted that focused on land use, historic/cultural sites, ground water aquifers, flood risk, transportation network and community services (schools, hospitals mosques).

WKC was tasked with updating the EIA and preparation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) in accordance with the Environmental Agency of Abu Dhabi (EAD) recommendations associated with the construction of a 177 Megawatts (MW) PV solar panel farm over an area of 796 hectares (ha) located in Sweihan, Abu Dhabi. A unique approach was taken on this site where each Dhub burrow was geo-referenced, demarcated and screened. The Dhub lizards were then captured and released adjacent to the site.
